(I’m working on a game)
Ladies!!!!
I want to know what video game got you into gaming?
My first gaming experience was Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. The casino level was…
Intellivision was my jam! It was the late 80s and we couldn’t afford a nintendo yet, but my dad had an intellivision system with a buttload of games and on Friday and Saturday nights he would bring it down from the closet and play it with me. We played a lot of Astro Smash, Frogger, and Major League Baseball.
Then one Christmas we finally got a Nintendo, and my dad helped me beat Legend of Zelda. It was rad. I also loved New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Brothers 2. My gaming career took off after that and even though my dad doesn’t game much anymore, save for some iPad apps, pinball machines when he encounters them, and the occasional golf game on PC, I have him to thank for my love of gaming today.
My gaming experience started on a Mac back in the day. I played this dungeon quest type game that I cannot, for the life of me, remember the name of. The goal was to navigate the maze, find keys, and use them to unlock doors. The enemies were “slime worms”, and running into one meant being swallowed and navigating a miniature maze inside it’s gut! Getting all four keys and delivering them to their color-coded locks rewarded you with a screen in which a derpy dragon flew across the screen about four times before crashing and presumably dying.
I played the hell out of that, and Carmen San Diego.
My first console was an NES, and I was addicted to Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and the Rescue Rangers game XD I remember getting my ass handed to me by Mega Man, and having zero tolerance for the encounter rate in Dragon Warrior.
My favorite console was, by far, the SNES, though I did play the hell out of the few games I had for the original gameboy.
Sorry I’ve been playing OoT ever since thesis finished and I couldn’t resist. I’ll get back to finishing commissions now.
I had a wonderful Journey with another person wearing the White Cloak, on the 21st April. He (or she) was very calm, so it was the most relaxing Journey I’ve played so far.
Usually, I draw stuff in the snow at the end of the game… So, just before we walked into the light, I called him with some chirping sounds and drew a heart. He looked at it for a few seconds, then he drew a bigger heart next to the first one. That was really cute.
